Medium Duty Shelving / Racking

Medium duty shelving fills the gap between light storage and heavy industrial racking. These systems typically handle 300 kg to 800 kg per shelf level, which covers most workshop tools, automotive parts, retail backroom stock, and small warehouse inventory without jumping to full pallet rack pricing.

Frames are made from rolled steel with bolted or nut-and-bolt assembly for solid stability. Shelf heights adjust in standard increments, and you can switch between steel shelves, wire decking, or wooden panels depending on what you’re storing. Powder-coated blue or gray finishes are standard, with galvanizing available for damp environments.

Typical buyers include auto repair shops, e-commerce fulfillment centers, school maintenance departments, and light manufacturing facilities. The units ship knocked-down to save freight cost, and two people can assemble a standard bay in under an hour with basic hand tools.

If your loads are too heavy for budget shelving but don’t need forklift handling, medium duty is usually the right middle ground.
